Barcelona Travel

Barcelona International Airport opened its doors several months ago and now is more than prepared for the arrival of the new eco-friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliner, set to make its first test flight, almost two and a half years late.

Grounded by a series of hitches, including design problems, strikes and even a shortage of bolts, Boeing has pegged its hopes for the future on the plane, which promises to be one of the most fuel-efficient in the world.
It has attracted some 840 orders from all over the globe, although some have been cancelled because of the delays. Its popularity is partly thanks to its lightweight design. Made of carbon and titanium, it should reduce fuel consumption as well as save on maintenance costs.

Some 840 orders for the 787 Dreamliner makes the plane worth about $140bn (£86bn) for Boeing, but first, the aerospace giant must get the plane ready for delivery to airlines.
Analysts warn that the maiden flight is just a step towards that goal, not a sign that everything is fine.

The 787 is already 30 months behind schedule and there could be further delay as the aircraft begins test flights and seeks federal certification

Boeing says it will deliver the plane to customers by the end of 2010. Analysts say that is a very optimistic timetable while the design aims to make the plane nimble and able to fly long distances without refuelling.

The route is published in the newspapers, but normally starts at the lower entrance of Ciutadella, running up C/Marquès de l'Argentera and Via Laietana. Barcelona Health Care

Health Care in Barcelona should not be an issue when travelling to the city. Flats By Days recommend that you have travel insurance while those travelling from within Europe are able to use their European Health Insurance card (EHIC), also called European Health Card (ECH), is the replacement for the old E111 medical form, which is no longer valid.

In Spain the EHIC card is called the TSE, Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea and it is issued by the Seguridad Social, the Spanish Social security.

Current news leads to Voters in Washington after being continuously disappointed regarding their health care and other legislative efforts and have sent out 5 million pink slips of paper to the members of Congress
Those Americans, he said, are "people who are saying to members of Congress that 'we are fed up with the absolute out-of-control spending, and we are going to respond and do what we can to take our country back."
The US are continuing their fight against the privatisation of the Health Care Industry within the country where only excessive bills can lead to the correct Health Care.

When travelling within Barcelona there are a selection of local hospitals within the City Center Area which all provide service. Service should be effective and worth the wait. While there are usually translators within the hospitals located in the tourist areas.

Barcelona Dance

The Sardana, local Barcelona Catalan dance is a symbol of Catalan unity and pride.

Catalan dancing; where circles of people join their hands together and with them raised; dance with very small, precise steps, slowly round and round whilst people join to make the circle bigger. This is the Sardana: the traditional national dance of Catalunya.

Other traditional mediterranian dances inlcude the greek dance, the Syrtaki, also known as Sirtaki dance. Syrtaki dance is unlike traditional Greek folkdance. According to Wikipedia, Syrtaki dance is a mixture of the fast and slow versions of the hasapiko dance. The music and dance are also referred to as the dance of Zorba or Zorbas. The name Syrtaki dance comes from the Greek word syrtos. which is a common name for a group of Cretan dances. These traditional dances don't involve hopping an leaping like pidikhtos. Syrtaki dance has a dragging style. Syrtaki dance is done in either a circle or line formation with hands held on your neighbors shoulders. Syrtaki dance begins slow and smooth then gets faster which may include some leaps and hops.

Barcelona Cuisine

Many restaurants in Barcelona are Michellin Star including two 3 star restaurants north of Barcelona:

Ferran Adria's legendary El Bulli at Roses, near Girona (which has been voted Best in the World a few times). Santi Santamaria's Can Fabes', at Sant Celoni, which is quite near to Barcelona, you can get the train there. Beautiful place, fabulous food and wine and immaculate service.
Abac was upgraded to two stars last November.
Comerc 24 was awarded its first star, it Festival of Tapas is an awesome experience.

Alternative News relates to the Bocuse d´Or competition which takes place every two years in Lyon, France.
Health The Bocuse d'Or was created by Chef Paul Bocuse in 1987. He created it to broaden the public's understanding of the extraordinary dedication, hard work, practice and precision required to execute the very finest cuisine. It is the most difficult and rigorous International culinary competition in the world held every two years in Lyon France. There are twenty four countries selected to enter.

The teams are allowed five and a half hours to create two intricate platter pieces. One that is seafood based the other meat, each much also have an accompaniment of three original garnishe's. Each team is provided five and a half hours to create two elaborate platter presentations, one centered around seafood and one on meat, each accompanied by three original garnishes. They are then presented in front of twenty four judges each who have the own esteemed reputations as chefs in their own countries. The competition comes down to the harmony of flavours, the presentation and the techniques used, and also around the team word involved.
Thousands of spectators attend and the atmosphere is intense and unique. It is also covered by journalists from all over the world.

Barcelona Car Parking

The Flats By Days apartments do not offer parking outside the door should you arrive by car. The streets of the Historical Central Area of Barcelona are often closed off only for pedestrian use.

However, there is suitable parking within no more than 10 minutes walk from each apartment.

The design of Barcelona is very different to countries outside of central Europe where one can find everything they require within minutes walk from their apartment, where shops, restaurants, cafes and bars are located upon the groundfloor of most buildings. Once in Barcelona there is little need to drive anywhere unless you wish to visit outside the City. Which means you can relax and enjoy the entertainment in safety and style.

In international news issues of driving after entertainment remain a sever problem, in Los Angeles - Sen. John Kerry's daughter was arrested for suspicion of DUI in Hollywood Thursday. Alexandra Forbes Kerry, the older of the senator's two daughters, was pulled over for a traffic violation about 12:40 a.m., Sgt. Enrique Mendoza of the LAPD Hollywood Station said.

"She was arrested for driving under the influence," said Officer Sara Faden, who added that Kerry was released on $5,000 bail. It was reported that Kerry refused to take Breathalyzer test at the scene. A later test showed a level of 0.06, under the legal limit of 0.08.

Barcelona Christmas Sales

The Barcelona Christmas is indeed much less commercial than in the UK and USA. You will have trouble in finding the usual tasteless Christmas songs being played a month before hand. The Christmas in Barcelona is much more tasteful, in addition to being more religious. Stylish yet minimal decorations accentuate the cityscape where one can pass through the beautifully historic streets here from market place to market place.

Making Barcelona one of the best cities for Christmas Shopping!

In other countries Black Friday is the biggest day in the Commercial Calendar as the last friday before Christmas. Where in the United States people are going crazy on all eye-poping deals by Walmart this Black Friday. Netizens are searching daily for black friday 2009 target, black friday 2009 toys r us, black friday 2009 target ad, black friday info, and tgi black friday. There's a lot of good deals from Walmart and we can't deny the fact the these deals are really good and we can save a lot when we buy our favorite gadget or any stuff that we want this Black Friday 2009.

Last year a store employee was actually stamped to death following the panic within the store after the doors were opened to the public, hopefully preventative measures will result in a more controlled black friday 2009.

Restaurant Les Quinze Nits in the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona

***Les Quinze Nits € - Restaurant with terrace

With a terrace and big windows, it is a spacious restaurant where people don't usually engage in after dinner conversation. Best prices in relation to the quality. They don't book in advance and there's always a long waiting line outside.
I would recommend this restaurant for lunch time (less people and even cheaper). It is definitely worthy to wait even more time and to get a table in the terrace. Great view over Plaza Real. There is a great holiday rental apartment 5 minutes away Bellafila 3A Apartment
